One of the most important problems of public and private organizations in the third millennium is the selection and appointment of efficient and competent managers, which has become more apparent due to the basic challenges of technology and the financial and economic crises of recent years. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of social maturity and practical skills on the development of managers' competence. This research is descriptive-survey in terms of its practical purpose and method. 250 bank managers of Tehran province were selected using Cochran's formula and stratified random sampling method and answered the standard research questionnaire. In order to analyze the research data, factor analysis and path analysis tests and SPSS V 23 and Lisrel V 8.72 softwares were used. The results of the research show that the dimensions of social maturity; The quality of temperament, the quality of individual creativity and the quality of self-perception have an effect on the development of managers' competence, on the one hand, having practical skills such as; The ability to communicate with others and manage time and oneself have a positive effect on the development of managers' competence. In total, the variables of the research model were able to explain 84% of the changes in the competence development of bank managers. It seems that individual characteristics and characteristics play a very important role in increasing managers' willingness to develop competence.
